ANN BURGUND - CONTENT PROFESSIONAL
ANN BURGUND is an Emmy Award-winning film producer for her work on the TV series Sesame Street. She was on staff for five years during which she produced 80 films for the show.
After Sesame Street, Ann worked as a writer in New York City, including being a staff writer at Lowe Marschalk advertising agency, handling many national consumer accounts.
After living in Manhattan for over 25 years, Ann moved to Los Angeles. There she wrote for several interactive multimedia projects including Colombus: Encounter, Discovery and Beyond, the landmark IBM project now permanently installed in the Smithsonian.
She also developed and associate produced The Mask, a feature film starring Jim Carrey with special effects by Industrial Light and Magic. In this role she was responsible for the choice of Mr. Carrey and of Cameron Diaz, who were both film unknowns at the time. It was among the top three films at the box office in 1994.
In 1995, she moved to the Seattle area to serve as head writer for the Character Team on Microsoft BOB. For the next three years, Ann wrote for the Microsoft Office web site. Simultaneously to that, she wrote a CD-ROM for Viacom/Sundance Institute, based on a play from Robert Redford's children's theatre.
She worked in the Bay Area in 1999 as a consultant for several content-rich, integrated media online projects. In 2001, Ann was hired as Content Specialist at CTB/McGraw-Hill in Monterey. In this role she headed a team of renowned children’s authors who wrote stories, as well as writing materials herself, for CTB/McGraw-Hill products.
Ann continues as a consultant to companies such as National Geographic School Publishing to whom she supplies children’s stories written by herself and her team.
Ann traveled the world for many years right after college and has now settled in the Pacific Northwest.
