U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: NOVEMBER 3, 2008

Americans Elect A New President In Two Weeks !! With the televised debates over and campaigning coming to a frenzied climax, Americans are facing the time for decision. National elections are taking place in two weeks, in which the U.S. voting population will decide who will lead their country for the next four years. With the U.S. financial crisis far from being resolved, and global markets reverberating from the ups and downs of Wall Street, this could be one of the most critical elections in recent American history.

Senators John McCain and Barack Obama are getting in their last promises to the public and their last punches at each other as November 3rd looms near on the horizon. Each of the presidential candidates claims, of course, to be the only one capable of solving the myriad of problems besetting American society, business, government and, needless to say, the economy. As the populace listens to the arguments from each side, it can hardly be without some bit of confusion from all of the numbers, statistics, claims and renunciations.

Senator Obama appears to hold a significant lead at this point, but earth-shattering upsets have not been unknown in American presidential elections. And, Senator McCain is probably hoping for one of those upsets. Political pundits, experts, analyzers and journalists have all often been completely dumbfounded by the contradictory results of some of the U.S. elections of the last fifty years or so. No one can really say for certain what the outcome will be.

What is obvious is that the next four years will be very interesting for America and the rest of the world. There are so many obstacles to overcome, so many problems to unravel, so many difficult situations to resolve, it’s hard to imagine that any person sitting in the White House will be able to have much success. We can only hope that, regardless of who the U.S. presidential victor is, we will all witness human civilization charting a course to a brighter future, for all people, everywhere. And that hope extends to the entire planet’s host of animals, plants, birds, insects … everyone and everything. After all, this is the only home we have.

Here are some predictions and analyses of the next four years:

The Wall Street Journal On Shocking Gas Prices

China Economic Review On Growth In Foreign Trade

The Jakarta Post On Food Prices

Quality Magazine On Manufacturing Expectations
