THE SMUCKER'SŪ BRAND HAS ENJOYED A LONG LIFE

Who doesn't like a sweet treat every now and then? Especially when that treat has a brand name like J.M. Smucker'sŪ. Listed as number 47 in Fortune's top 100 companies to work for, Smucker'sŪ has an unmatched lineage in its market niche.

The story goes all the way back to the historical figure, John Chapman aka "Johnny Appleseed". At the turn of the 19th Century, fruit from seeds sown by Mr. Chapman, in Ohio in the early 1800's, went into Jerome Monroe Smucker's first jars of apple butter.

Today, the lineage continues in the classic style of the "rags to riches" American dream. J.M. Smucker's great grandsons now serve as executives for the Smucker'sŪ brand. An unheard of low turn-over rate, shows a noteworthy fact: 25% of Smucker'sŪ employees have worked there for 16 or more years. Employment is diverse; 41% women and 24% minorities.

For general information see Smucker'sŪ excellent web site: The J. M. Smucker Company and for career info, see their career page: Careers/Employment. Also, Fortune's top 100 ranking page: 100 Best Companies to Work For.
