As one of the two fastest growing economies in the world, India promises to have its work cut out in finding sustainable energy solutions for the future. Population growth in India is predicted to reach well over a billion people before it begins to level off.

This means that the demand for energy will grow exponentially. This challenge in itself is quite daunting but add to it the ever growing concern over environmental trade-offs, and the challenge then becomes truly formidable.
