NURSING JOBS IN REMOTE LOCATIONS
The crippling effects of the worldwide shortage of nurses is even more severe in rural areas. Often it is less attractive to nurses to move out to remote locations for their work, because of the many unknowns. Also, while city nurses typically are assigned to one discipline, rural nurses must be prepared for anything.
Hence there's typically a great deal of demand for nursing staff in areas, for example, such as rural Michigan, Australia, and Alaska. In rural Michigan we found this web site posting, "Needed in remote locations of MI., Skilled Nursing 5 - 8 Hour Shifts. Excellent Compensation Package. Excellent benefits with immediate 401K." (see Health Career Web.com).
In Australia we found this very urgent posting "CALLING ALL NURSING PROFESSIONALS! Permanent, temporary & contract vacancies within all nursing disciplines; opportunities in city, country, urban..." (see Escape Artist.com Jobs Overseas).
And in Alaska we found a bulletin board web site, that lets you write and find out info from other nurses already in Alaska. (see City-Data.com).
A Rural Nurse Practitioner focuses specifically on providing health care to rural populations. Working in a community-based setting, the RNP diagnoses and treats common acute illnesses and provides continuing health care management for patients suffering from chronic illnesses (see All Nursing Schools.com).
