Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst in our Finance Department. This position reports directly to the Manager of External Reporting and Analysis.
The Sr. Financial Analyst contributes to El Pollo Loco’s success by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance. The position provides analytical support to our Executive Management and Field Operations teams for key operational, marketing and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities:
 Assist corporate management and field operations in determining financial impact of new initiatives.
Assist field operations to identify and resolve issues relating to food & beverage cost, labor costs and any other P&L related items.
Develop financial and statistical models that identify key performance indicators to improve performance.
Plan annual or project-specific budgets, monitor expenditures, and interpret financial results. Report actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
Reporting of weekly, monthly and quarterly financial results for Operations, Marketing and Finance Teams.
Analyze and interpret trends in actual financial performance.
Develop monthly reporting packages to include management reports, departmental reports and key metrics.
Assist in menu matrix/mix reporting, margin analyses and other marketing analyses support for R&D and Marketing.
Required Experience and Skills:
5+ years experience in Financial Analysis
5+ years of proven experience with monthly forecasting
Multi-unit / multi-state hospitality or retail experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Finance, Economics or Accounting (MBA preferred).
Strong analytical ability.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with a strong commitment to follow through.
Comfortable multitasking and working both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication as well as the ability to prepare clear and concise presentations.
Able to easily shift between details and the big picture.
Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
